Why Paper Sudoku Still Wins

Screen-free focus

Studies and plenty of anecdotal evidence agree: working on paper cuts distractions. There's no notification, no autocomplete, and no tempting "hint" button — just you, a pencil, and the grid. Many solvers find they spot patterns faster without the glow of a screen.

Sudoku anywhere

Printed puzzles travel well: the commuter train, the beach, a café table, or the back seat on a road trip. Print a stack on Sunday and you're set for the week — no battery required.

Printing Tips

  • Use the Print button on this page rather than your browser menu — it automatically hides the site chrome and prints only the puzzle sheets.
  • Save as PDF: in the print dialog, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination to build a puzzle book you can reprint anytime.
  • Paper size: the sheets fit US Letter and A4. For one-puzzle-per-page, choose layout 1 and get a big, easy-to-read grid.
  • Answer key: solutions print on a separate sheet, so you can hand out puzzles without giving away the answers.
  • Classrooms & clubs: generate 6 per page for handouts — each visitor gets a different, unique puzzle.
